Musicians, singers and creative team come together in Bath ahead of the United 4 Peace concert.
Ahead of the United 4 Peace concert at Bath Abbey, the creative team gathered for the final dress rehearsal of A Woman’s War, an audiovisual work by composer Kornélia Nemcová and artist Natália Štojková.
The rehearsal took place at St Luke’s Church in Bath, bringing together the full ensemble of performers. The work featured The Ruffians (Hestor Dart, Amy Kearsley and Miranda Ostler), the Courage Choir, and the Argyle String Orchestra, conducted by Adam Laughton, whose careful direction brought together the many musical and visual elements of the production.
A Woman’s War combines music, choir, live performance and audiovisual storytelling to share the voices and experiences of Ukrainian women displaced by the war. The rehearsal allowed performers and technical teams to coordinate the complex staging, sound, and visual elements ahead of the concert performance.
The rehearsal marked an important moment in preparing for the concert, which brought together artists and the wider community in Bath to support Ukraine through culture, music and collective solidarity.
